Build A Better Future Appeal - 1 year on
May 06 2022
You may remember that back in May 2021, we launched our ‘Build a Better Future’ building appeal with the hope of raising the £450,000 needed to complete the second phase of refurbishment of our new home.
After 12 months of fundraising, we are thrilled to announce that we have successfully reached our fundraising target and can now begin the process of completing the renovation work and adding the much-needed finishing touches to our children's centre in Llanishen, Cardiff.
Our Centre Director, Jenny Carroll, would like to extend her personal thanks to everyone who donated to the appeal.
Having a space to enable us to see more children and families has been our dream for many years. Despite the financial challenges that we have faced over the past two years due to the pandemic, and the need for us to focus on securing revenue income, it has still been vital to move forward with the development of our new children’s centre.
Our sincere thanks go to so many for making our dream of a new children’s centre a reality, with a special thank you to the Moondance Foundation and Welsh Government for understanding our vision and investing in our future. We would also like to thank The Bradbury Foundation, Hong Kong and Garfield Weston Foundation for their generous gifts which took us over the finish line. We are now looking forward to commencing the work to further develop our children’s centre and achieve our dream of creating a purpose-built centre of excellence for children and families across Wales living with cerebral palsy."
The second phase of the refurbishment will begin later this year and will see key features being added to our children's centre including a lift, partition walls in our therapy rooms, hoists and a complete redevelopment of our forecourt including a canopy over our family parking spaces.
Thank you once again to everyone who supported our appeal. Together, we can continue to make a difference to children and families across Wales living with cerebral palsy.
Cerebral Palsy Cymru would like to thank the following for helping them Build a Better Future:
Welsh Government, The Moondance Foundation, The Bradbury Foundation Hong Kong, Garfield Weston Foundation, Slater & Gordon Lawyers, Circle IT, Hugh James, St Joseph’s Hospital, The National Lottery Community Fund, The Screwfix Foundation, The B&Q Foundation, Western Power Distribution, Hedigan Construction Ltd, Adroit Financial Planning, and everyone who kindly made a donation towards their ‘Build a Better Future’ building appeal.
