Blue self storage help us celebrate Volunteers' Week 2024!
June 06 2024
Volunteers' Week is an event that was created to encourage organisations to show appreciation for the hard work and commitment of volunteers, and this year marks the 40th anniversary of the celebration!
Since Cerebral Palsy Cymru was founded in 1993, volunteers have been instrumental in driving our mission forward and helping us deliver our vital services.
To celebrate the hard work of our incredible volunteers, we partnered with blue self storage to create personalised hampers and thank you cards for each of our charity shops!
As well as sponsoring our Volunteers Week celebrations, Sharon Parfitt-Jones from blue self storage joined our HR & Volunteers Manager, Joanna Di Somma, our Marketing and Communications Officer, Emma Folkard, and our Volunteers Coordinator, Rowan Wood, to visit our volunteers and deliver the hampers to our charity shops.
Visiting each of the shops gave us the opportunity to individually thank our volunteers and show our appreciation for their hard work and commitment.
Rowan, our new Volunteers’ Coordinator, shared:
"It was an absolute pleasure celebrating our volunteers this week! Being able to visit the shops and see the volunteers in action was great, and being able to show just how much we appreciate all of their hard work and dedication with the lovely hampers was such a delight."
Sponsoring Volunteers’ Week is just one of the ways that blue self storage supports us and other charities. They also kindly provide us with vital storage space that enables us to manage our donations of pre-loved goods, providing us with a safe storage place until they are ready for sale in our charity shops which are located in Llanishen, Cathays, Whitchurch and Barry.
Marc Roberts, Head of Retail at Cerebral Palsy Cymru commented:
“The ability to store off season items and donations is vital for the effective running of our 4 charity shops so we are extremely grateful for the continued support of blue self storage. In addition to providing free storage, they always go above and beyond to help us where they can, such as providing support for Volunteers Week to enable us to provide hampers for each of our charity shops to thank our amazing volunteers. All of this support helps us to sustain our services for children and families across Wales living with cerebral palsy”
Speaking on blue self storage’s involvement with Volunteers’ Week, Sharon Parfitt-Jones shared:
“Since becoming part of the Llanishen business community, our relationship with Cerebral Palsy Cymru has blossomed. Cerebral Palsy Cymru is an amazing charity providing hope and support to many families throughout Wales. blue self storage recognises the dedication and hard work volunteers nobly provide, and sponsoring Volunteers Week 2024 was a way of showing our appreciation.”
We are extremely grateful for the support from our friends at blue self storage and look forward to continuing to partner with them in the future.
